# RBT Resume No Experience | Special Needs Jobs

**[Get the free RBT resume template →](https://specialneedsjobs.org/resources/rbt-resume?utm_source=hashnode&utm_medium=parasite&utm_campaign=rbt-resume-no-experience)**

An RBT resume with no experience should say three things clearly: the role you want, your credential status stated accurately, and a few real examples of following procedures and keeping records. You do not need ABA history to start. You need honest wording and specific bullets.

## Get the credential line right

This is where new applicants slip. A completed course is not an RBT certification. Use the wording from the Special Needs Jobs [RBT resume guide](https://specialneedsjobs.org/resources/rbt-resume?utm_source=hashnode&utm_medium=parasite&utm_campaign=rbt-resume-no-experience):

- Active RBT: "Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), active"
- Training done, not certified: "Completed a 40-hour RBT training program on [date]; not yet RBT-certified."
- Training not started: "Applying for a behavior technician trainee role; not currently RBT-certified."

## A starter layout

Contact line, target role, a one-line summary, credential status, relevant experience, education and training, skills you can back up with an example. Keep it readable on a phone.

## Turn other work into relevant bullets

Instead of "good with kids," write what you did: "Supported classroom routines and transitions, then shared relevant observations with the lead teacher." Instead of "worked in healthcare," write: "Followed written care instructions, completed assigned records, and raised questions with the responsible supervisor." Use a line only if it describes your own work, and add numbers only if you tracked them.

## Where to apply with no experience

Some ABA employers train new hires. The board's [guide to entry-level ABA jobs with paid training](https://specialneedsjobs.org/resources/aba-jobs-with-paid-training?utm_source=hashnode&utm_medium=parasite&utm_campaign=rbt-resume-no-experience) explains what to look for, and each listing says whether training is stated.
